Looking at Sheng Yize sleeping soundly in bed, An Xiaxia practically wanted to bash her head in with a piece of tofu!
She couldn’t help but heave a sign and began guessing the pattern to unlock the phone.
A square? Didn’t work! A star? Didn’t work! An L? It still didn’t work!
An Xiaxia was getting more flustered with each pattern she tried and began to draw random lines on the screen. Just then, a deep, husky voice rang out beside her ear. “Draw a horizontal line, then go vertically down. Now bring it down diagonally to the second dot…”
An Xiaxia absentmindedly followed the instructions and was surprised when she actually unlocked the phone!
“Wow! That actually worked!” An Xiaxia cheered a little and looked up. Looking back at her was Sheng Yize with his arms crossed. She was so scared that she fell down onto the floor on her butt!
M-mommy, when did Sheng Yize wake up?
Sitting on the floor and gazing into Sheng Yize’s searching eyes, she was so nervous that she almost couldn’t breathe.
Sheng Yize broke the silence with a lazy voice. “Miss An, what are you doing in my room in the middle of the night?”
An Xiaxia forced out a laugh. “Yeah… What am I doing in your room… Oh, that’s right! Sleepwalking! I’m sleepwalking!”
She hastily put on an expressionless face and raised her arms, then began to hop around like a jiangshi 1 .
Sheng Yize couldn’t help but feel his temple throb.
Wasn’t this girl a little too adorkable?
“This is the first time I’ve heard that people can talk to other people while sleepwalking.”
Exposed, An Xiaxia racked her brain and quickly thought of something else. She went up to Sheng Yize with an obsequious smile. “I was just kidding. Actually, I’m here to take care of you and tuck you in!” With that, she dramatically spread the thin blanket over Sheng Yize.
“Ah!” She cried out when Sheng Yize grabbed her arm as he said mockingly, “Did you have to take my phone to tuck me in?”
His gaze fell on the cell phone clutched in An Xiaxia’s hand.
An Xiaxia wanted to cry but could shed no tears. She said in a pitiful voice, “Wait a second, Sheng Yize. I– I have something to tell you!”
His voice was so pleasant to hear and that “hm” was so rhythmic and worth savoring that An Xiaxia’s legs almost gave up at that sound.
She breathed in deeply and said, “I wanted to tell you that you suck at kissing!”
Sheng Yize narrowed his black brooding eyes, looking rather intimidating.
An Xiaxia went on with her provocation, unaware of the danger she was facing. “With a kiss like that, you better give up looking for girlfriends in the future, or they’ll have to teach you how to kiss!”
As she talked nonstop, her fingers moved quickly. She clicked open his messages, ticked the group message from her which said “Explosive News,” and deleted it!
Sheng Yize’s attention was focused only on her face and he didn’t notice her little maneuver.
After An Xiaxia finished her business, she threw his phone onto the bed and was planning to run away.
However, the grip on her wrist was too tight for her to escape.
An Xiaxia tried to pry off Sheng Yize’s hand with all her might but couldn’t even move one finger of his.
“Mhm… it hurts, it hurts, it hurts. Sheng Yize, let go of me,” An Xiaxia begged with tears in her eyes.
The grip on her arm grew tighter and she involuntarily fell forward.
In the blink of an eye, Sheng Yize was on top of An Xiaxia and she was immediately alarmed!
“What… What are you doing?!” An Xiaxia twisted around in horror.
Sheng Yize’s voice was as cold as ice and his words seemed to be squeezed out from between his teeth —
“If I suck that much at kissing, shouldn’t you teach me a thing or two? Right? My fellow classmate, An Xiaxia!”
